New app is Tinder for airports

There are only so many things you can do at the airport, and for those single travellers looking to “pass a bit of time” there is now a new app connecting people at the airport, called Btrfly.

Dubbed the ‘Tinder for airports’, Btrfly app helps you find love with other lonely travellers at the terminal. Users log in to app by entering their flight details or choice of airport, and Btrfly then shows a list of other users in the area or on the same flight.

The free iOS and Android app covers 380 airports across the world, and gives information on where other users are flying to, and what time, to ensure you know you’ll have enough time before they jet off.

While the app claims to be aimed a business people or people who want to make friends, it is most likely to lead to romantic meetups and become more of a dating app.

The app’s description says: ‘Whether you are a business traveller en route to a conference or a music fan headed to a festival looking to make new friends before the event and maybe even share a cab from the airport, Btrfly brings travellers together.’
