180 travel industry members spent yesterday workshopping female leadership at JITO’s Inspiring Female Leaders event.

Keynote addresses were made by JITO founder Helene Taylor, APT Travel Group CCO Debra Fox, international coach Jeffery Downes and Cosmopolitan editor Keshnee Kemp.

“The workshops were really valued for the business acumen they offered by the inspiring female leaders who all gave up their day to give back and make a difference for the initiative,” JITO founder Helene Taylor said.

The other sessions broke into workshop, with topics including “How to start your own business and succeed” by Travel Counsellors MD Fred van Eijk and “Not getting promoted? There could be a simple reason why” by The Walshe Group MD Jacqui Walshe.

“Women play a huge part in the future of the industry and I am confident with the growing support of this initiative we are going to see more female leaders leaning in to more senior roles helping drive equality.

“We are also going to see more females negotiating hard for themselves closing the gap on pay parity,” Taylor said.

Male leaders also contributed to the day.

“There are male leaders like The Travel Corporation who are funding tables at these events to help grow their leaders and it was inspiring to see the male leaders who spoke and attended in support,” Taylor added.
