How to get to Oman

How to get to Oman

Oman can often be overlooked as a holiday destination, simply because travellers don’t know how to get there.

So rather than bypass the enchanting area any longer, we’ve got all you need to know about visiting Oman.

GETTING THERE

Via Asia
Oman Air – the multiple award winning of Sultanate of Oman – flies daily to Muscat from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta and Manila. Oman Air offers attractive air fares to Muscat and beyond using a variety of interline partners into Australia.

Some current off peak specials include:

>Special Economy class offers from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide to…

>Muscat and Middle East from $1550

>Cairo / Dar es Salam / Zanzibar from: $1595

>London from: $1750

>Lower fares are available from Perth, with the fares based on travel during off peak (January 1 – June 23 & August 1 – November 30) and including taxes. Stopovers in both the Asian hubs or Muscat are permitted outbound or inbound.

Via the UAE

Both Emirates and Etihad offer convenient and frequent connections daily to Muscat from Dubai and Abu Dhabi respectively, making Oman an easy side trip to maximise the memories.

Sharing a land border means that you can drive into Northern Oman from the UAE. The journey between Dubai and Muscat takes about 4 hours. Oman’s spectacular northern Musandam peninsula is often reached by road from Dubai, bringing visitors to the town of Khasab, the breath-taking Fjords of Arabia, and the luxurious Six Sense Zighy Bay resort.

Via Qatar

With Qatar Airways offering popular fares and services to Europe and beyond via its hub of Doha, this award-winning airline provides daily connections to Muscat and Salalah on Oman’s tropical southern coast.

Qatar Airways’ oneworld Visit Middle East airpass is a great option for travellers looking to explore the region, which is US $100 return from Doha.

Via Dubai

>Another option is the Arabian AirPass with Emirates, which is US$120 return from Dubai.

VISAS

Australian passport holders can apply online through the Royal Oman Police Website before they travel: www.evisa.rop.gov.om/voa.

The website takes users through the process step-by-step in plain English. The different visa types are clearly described along with pricing and permitted lengths of stay.

A 10-day tourist visa fee is 5.000 Omani Rials – approximately AU$17.00.

Sultanate of Oman Tourism reminds New Zealand passport holders that they do not need a visa to visit Oman.
