Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines announces Samantha Stimpson as new CEO

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced the appointment of its new CEO, Samantha Stimpson, who joins the company with over 25 years of industry experience.

Moving on from her current position as CCO at FTI Touristik, Stimpson brings an exceptional track record of strong commercial results, exceptional customer experience and energised organisations.

Based at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines head office, she will take responsibility for strategic development and management of the entire operation, covering 220 staff at head office and over 2,000 crew members across the fleet of three ships.

“Samantha brings a strategic mindset, extensive knowledge and management experience with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the travel industry.

“We are very pleased that Samantha joins us, as we see exciting possibilities for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines for the future.”

Samantha Stimpson will start her new role before 1 February next year.

“I am honoured to be joining Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, a company that I have known and admired for many years,” Stimpson, said.

“I very much look forward to working with the organization (sic), contributing my skills and expertise, continuing to enhance the strategy which is built on smaller, elegant ships, and exceptional experiences, underpinned by a culture that recognizes (sic) the importance of personal, attentive service.”

Anette Olsen also announced that Pete Deer, the current managing director will also be shifting to a new role as chief financial officer.
