Over 160 Australian travel agents joined the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authority (LVCVA) and accommodation and entertainment providers last night, to learn why Vegas is regarded as the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World’ and attracts over 41.1 million visitors each year.

Held at The Westin Sydney, the evening marked the first event for the 2015 LVCVA Australia and New Zealand Trade Roadshow, and ensured the week long roadshow started in true Vegas style.

Highlights from the event included a personal insight into Las Vegas from renowned travel writer, Ben Groundwater, acrobatic performances by Adagio Act, industry networking and plenty of prizes.

Peter Duncan from Aqua Travel Group was the lucky winner of the evening’s major prize, a holiday for two to fabulous Las Vegas including flights with United Airlines, accommodation and entertainment.

The LVCVA was joined by ten key partners including Travel Nevada, Caesars Entertainment, Cirque Du Soleil, Exotics Racing, Graceland Wedding Chapel, Machine Guns Vegas, Maverick Aviation Group, MGM Resorts, Miracle Mile Shops and Papillion.

The roadshow will continue in Sydney today with a B2B event followed by a VIP event at The Ivy Penthouse. The group will then hit the road and do it all again in Auckland.

Australia is the number two source of overseas travellers to Las Vegas attracting more than 350,000 travellers in 2014 (this excludes Canada and Mexico).
