Raise your KeepCups, because today marks the inaugural World Sustainable Traveller Day!

The special day has been launched by Dayana Brooke, founder and director of The Sustainable Traveller, and coincides with the fifth anniversary of her company.

World Sustainable Traveller Day (WSTD) aims to inform travellers and the travel industry on sustainable travel and ensures it is accessible, affordable, and positively benefits people and the planet.

On this day, the company will be sharing three future travel styles we can all embrace to show travellers the positive benefits of sustainable travel.

“When I started the company five years ago, I knew it was the right thing to do, and I’m so glad I did,” Brooke said.

“It’s allowed me to become an advocate for sustainability within an industry that is reliant on the very nature it’s destroying.

“With travellers ready to start exploring once again, now is the time to raise awareness about travelling in a better way, create positive travel experiences and champion sustainability for now and future generations.”

Brooke said industry folk can use the day to showcase the benefits of sustainable travel and let others know they are committed to travelling “in a better way”.

The three themes she has picked include immersive cultural experiences, meaningful travel with purpose and quality of life experiences.
