Boomers launches agent reward program

The travel insurer looking after the baby boomers has launched a new partner program that rewards agents too.

Boomers Travel Insurance is the first over-50s dedicated insurer, and now is offering a 10% commission to travel agents on their sales.

The program provides agents with easy online access to Boomers Travel Insurance, which features no upper age limit for general policies and automatic cover for more than 30 of the most common types of pre-existing medical conditions.

Boomers’ general manager Ian Jackson said the new partner program recognised that agents sometimes have difficulty finding a travel insurance product to cover clients because of their age or pre-existing medical conditions.

“Boomers provides an easy way for agents to insure clients who may not meet the criteria of other travel insurance providers,” Jackson said.

“By registering as a travel partner of Boomers, agents will have the option of purchasing a policy simply and quickly online, which means they can keep their client happy and avoid the risk of losing a sale due to concerns about insurance coverage.

“The partnership program is also a great way for travel agents to gain extra sales from clients who prefer online products to over-the-counter policies.”

Jackson said that the older age demographic and longer travel periods of Boomer clients also meant commission earnings could be greater than those paid by other online travel insurers.

Travel agents wishing to register as a Boomers partner can visit the Boomers affiliate program here and complete the online application.

Once approved, each agent is issued with an individual code to use during online sales as well as a quick link to the Boomers’ site for their desktop.  All transactions are tracked and a 10% commission fee finds its way into the agent’s nominated bank account the following month.

Boomers Travel Insurance is issued and managed by Allianz Global Assistance, with the Boomers’ product also featuring a range of lifestyle package add-ons for over-50s, including a Cruise Pack for travellers holidaying at sea.
