Bali bumps London as top Easter destination

Bali is the most popular international destination for Australians this Easter, according to data from Webjet.

The destination has jumped from 8th to first on the list, with one in seven airfares booked for this period being to Bali.

Aussies aren’t wanting to travel too far either, with nine of the top ten destinations being in countries nearby.

Last year, Easter trips to London topped the list, but dropped to fourth this year.

Last year’s international favourites, Fiji and Wellington have been replaced by the likes of Tokyo and Christchurch.

International travel from Australia this Easter period is up 45.7% in comparison to the same booking period in 2022 (when COVID-19 continued to impact bookings)

Travellers can avoid the busy period by resisting the pull of the long Easter weekend as almost a quarter (23.4%) of all international bookings for the month depart on the 5th, 6th and 7th April.

Choice of location is more important than ever. Flights to Singapore are almost half the price of flights to Tokyo.
