American Airlines taps Kyle Mabry as new Aussie VP

American Airlines has appointed Kyle Mabry as vice president of operations and commercial for EMEA and APAC, following over 25 years at the airline in commercial, marketing and business strategy roles.

In his new role, Mabry will guide the teams to fulfil the airline’s commercial strategy, working toward it’s shared goals of reliability and profitability, remaining committed to its customers, and continuing to elevate American Airlines as the leading global carrier.

Prior to his new appointment, Mabry led the global sales division as vice president for almost two years, moving to this role following seven years as managing director for the airline’s Western Division.

“After over two decades with American, I’m looking forward to the taking on the challenge of the EMEA and APAC regions, leading our dedicated teams across the globe as we run a reliable operation and to return to profitability” said Mabry.

“I’ve witnessed the incredible work that our teams at EMEA and APAC do, ensuring American’s continued success in the region, and I look forward to work alongside them as we continue providing unparalleled service for customers.”

This year across EMEA and APAC, American operates more than 400 weekly flights to 22 destinations this year, working closely in the regions with partners including British Airways, Qatar, and, most recently, IndiGo.

In just a few weeks, American will also resume service to Auckland (AKL) and Sydney (SYD), helping further rebuild its footprint in the Pacific.
