Travel Pursuit agents get quizzical
By admin

Last night saw nearly 200 consultants from a host of agencies country wide battling it out to for the title of Australia's smartest travel agency. The annual Travel Pursuit event was held at Sydney's Grace Hotel and over three hours and four testing rounds of trivia some 30 tables battled it out for top honours – all while being well fed and watered, of course.

Each round was tailored to a specific destination, with agents using their grey matter to answer curly questions on South Africa, Oman, the Philippines and the European quartet countries – The Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. All four sponsor destinations also showcased their countries' attributes in a series of colourful video presentations.

Each round's winner took home a cracking prize, with destination experts picking up goodie bags and wine. One lucky agent even scooped a famil trip to the culturally packed European quartet countries.

At the end of the night the three overall top scorers shared a whopping $5000 of prize money. Amid much excitement AHC Sydney (3rd place with $500) and The Arabs (2nd place with $1500) took out the runner up prizes. But the biggest cheer was reserved for the effervescent girls from Harvey World Travel Emu Plains (pictured), who took home the $3000 first prize.

The top 10 positions were as follows: 1st The Crew from Emu, 2nd The Arabs, 3rd AHC Sydney, 4th The Frenchies, 5th Travel Beyond Gangsters, 6th 3 Monkeys, 7th Multiple Scorgasms, 8th Hornsby Jets, 9th Eight Minus 3, 10th Escape on a Cruise.

And to those who narrowly missed out, not to fear, Travel Pursuit will return bigger and better than ever in 2014.
