Regional arrivals triple with Emirates

Regional arrivals triple with Emirates
By admin

International bookings to Australian regional centres have tripled since the Qantas-Emirates alliance began sales in January.

Hobart, Coffs Harbour and Cairns have seen the biggest increase in bookings while Townsville, Darwin, Launceston, Alice Springs, Devonport, Rockhampton, Broome and the Gold Coast are following suit.

“As a result of our partnership with Emirates, our regional centres are being promoted to a bigger audience than ever before,” Qantas international sales manager Stephen Thompson said.

Emirates offers 32 destinations on the Qantas domestic network and these regional bookings are strong from the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Singapore, Thailand and Italy.

“As well as making travel within Australia easier for visitors, with one fare and one ticket, the Qantas-Emirates partnership also provides tourism operators with new opportunities to capitalise on the international tourists visiting the country,” Thompson added.
