Tourism Accommodation Australia has confirmed the appointment of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific chief executive Barry Robinson to its board.

The announcement follows the signing of the Mantra Group earlier this week.

US ski destination Park City Utah has charged GTI Tourism with raising its profile in the Australian market.

The agency will implement a program of marketing, public relations and media in order to grow its appeal.

Africa specialists Bench International are offering a range of earlybird deals on bookings of its Shongololo rail safari when booked before September 30.

Incentives include a free hotel night before departure along with free wine, beer, spirits and mixers during the journey, with the itineraries starting from $4240 per person.

The development of a new iPad application will see Jetstar's pilots calculate aircraft weight and balance before take-off via a tablet, eliminating the need for paper on board.

The Jetload application, a collaboration between the airline and Zensar Technologies, is the first of its kind to be used in an Australian flight deck.

It is currently being used aboard its A320 aircraft, with the fuel savings made from the reduction of paper manuals on board thought to be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.
