Rail Plus has become one of the first wholesale travel companies in Australia to achieve accreditation under the newly introduced AFTA Travel Accreditation Scheme (ATAS).

The scheme, which came into effect on July 1, requires all participants to meet strict criteria in terms of business performance, training and ethics.

“ATAS is now playing a vital role in endorsing the quality and reliability of travel intermediaries, and its efforts will help build and sustain consumer confidence in our industry,” chief executive James Dunne said. 

 

Compagnie du Ponant has expanded its Sydney office, with the appointment of Eva Robert as marketing manager Australasia.

Robert has five years experience in Ponant cultural and product insight, as well as implementing online and offline marketing campaigns, managing CRM software and working with customers.

 

To celebrate the launch of its new USA 2015 brochure, APT is offering a special companion fly free deal across a range of its itineraries.

The offer extends to a number of tours, including the 18-day Columbian tour departing April to August 2015, which flies a companion for free, saving up to $2625 per couple.

Bookings must be made before November 28 2014, with more information available on the APT website.

 

TUI Travel and Amadeus have announced that they have extended their multi-year agreement that gives TUI access to technology to purchase flights through Amadeus.

Under this new deal, Amadeus will assist TUI Travel improve its customer service by providing a range of different products and services for customers.
