New tours get behind the scenes of Sydney
By admin

As of December, Sydney Out Back tours are set to escort visitors to the amazing landscapes along the lower Hawkesbury, Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and Northern Beaches of Sydney.

The name gives most of it away, in that the tours are designed to take out ‘out back’ of Sydney, getting off the beaten track and finding a few greener ones.

The nature-based tours boast breathtaking National Park experiences and coastal landscapes in the one day, and all a mere 45 minutes from the big smoke.

Visitors have the option of full or half days, as well as the choice to self-drive, with tours including visits to sacred Aboriginal heritage sites and ancient rock carvings accessible only by the 50-foot motor cruiser the Out Back guides will take you on.

And it wouldn’t be an Aussie tour if you didn’t learn some life-saving skills for the surf, sample some local foods, or hear tales of war from our Diggers history.

Sydney Out Back is the product of husband and wife team Paul and Kaje Pickering, both of whom have strong ties to the area, and are keen to share their knowledge with others.

“To us, the natural beauty of the Ku-ring-gai waterways is pure remote and peaceful… just spellbinding,” Paul says, before adding the Northern Beaches boast equally as beautiful sites.

“The combination of these two and being able to offer tours that are truly unique is a dream come true.”

“Our team also share personal connections with the region and, as locals with their own experiences, have their own yarns to tell about growing up in and around the region.”

Paul and Kaje both have developed their dream while respecting the environment, the community and the traditional guardians of the land – the Guringai People, working closely with National Parks and the Aboriginal Heritage Office.
