Don't fixate on late deals, Intrepid warns
By admin

Intrepid Travel has warned consumers not to become obsessed with hanging out for bargain deals as the operator announced a price freeze on 2014 departures.

Waiting for a last minute cut price package may save money on land arrangements but consumers could be stung by paying inflated airfares, the firm said.

Booking early is often the best way to secure the cheapest deal, said Alison Mead, regional sales and marketing manager Australia, NZ and Asia.

“People often fixate on waiting for last minute travel deals, while there are considerable savings to be had on advanced bookings,” she said. “While passengers may save on the land portion of their trip, they often face increased airfare rates, which ultimately offset the savings.”

The warning came as Intrepid announced a price freeze with 2014 tours available at this year’s rates.

The offer is valid on bookings made before September 30 when a $250 deposit is paid.
