Australian travel spend to rise

Australian travel spend to rise
By admin

Tripadvisor has released statistics that more than 44% of Australian travellers intend to increase their travel budget this year.

The report also reveals that technology is integral to Australian travel with 92% of respondents looking to the internet to plan their trips.

“From researching their trips to getting advice and recommendations on where to go and to keeping in contact with friends and loved ones during the trip, the internet is proving to be a trusted and useful ally," TripAdvisor vice president Cindy Tan said.

With only 18% of those surveyed planning to spend less this year, Tripadvisor suggests consumer travel optimism is high.

The most important factors for choosing accommodation include price and location, ranking 77% and 78% respectively. Online reviews are less influential, being a concern of 44% of those surveyed.
