Choice Hotels expands with new outback NSW stays

Choice Hotels Asia-Pac welcomes the newest additions to its flagship Comfort brand with the Comfort Inn Clubarham and the Comfort Suites Clubarham Golf Resort. The properties are located in Barham on the banks of the Murray River in NSW.

The property pair marks the first time Choice Hotels Asia-Pac as franchisor is working with hotel management company Gatehouse Hospitality, who will manage the two hotels on behalf of the owners.

Choice Hotels Asia-Pac CEO Trent Fraser said the two hotels are great additions to the portfolio, offering a full range of accommodation options for travellers seeking to immerse themselves in the relaxed beauty of the Riverina region.

“Comfort Inn Clubarham and Comfort Inn Suites Clubarham Golf Resort are strong additions to the portfolio and we’re very pleased to work with the teams at cluBarham and Gatehouse Hospitality. Barham is a popular destination for golfers, foodies, fishing fans and bushwalkers. And given its proximity to both Melbourne and Sydney, it’s the perfect spot for a refreshing getaway” Fraser said.

Barham and District Services Memorial Club (clubarham) CEO Jason Wallace said he was excited to see the Comfort accommodation brand complementing the Club’s entertainment and sporting attractions in the area.

“This collaboration gives us the best mix of the day-to-day management expertise of Gatehouse Hospitality and the strong branding, marketing and franchise support services from Choice Hotels to complement our existing operations,” Wallace said.

Located in the heart of Barham, the 54-room Comfort Inn Clubarham (formerly two properties known as Clubarham Motel and Clubarham River Motel) is within walking distance of the town’s shops, restaurants, and other attractions. Guests can enjoy a range of facilities, including swimming pools and BBQ areas, as well as access to nearby cluBarham’s two on-site restaurants, gymnasium, lawn bowls and daily entertainment.

Two kilometres from the town centre, Comfort Suites Clubarham Golf Resort (formerly known as cluBarham Golf and Sports) boasts an 18-hole championship course redesigned by Ross Watson and 14 grass tennis courts.

Accommodations include 11 new two- and three-bedroom apartments, cabins, and 18 ensuite and powered caravan/RV sites.

Along with brand, marketing, and franchise performance, the Clubarham properties will now participate in Choice Hotels’ award-winning loyalty program Choice Privileges. The global program enables travellers to earn and redeem points for Rewards nights stays at more than 7,500 hotels around the world.
