Travellers Choice to float above Melbourne for national conference

Travellers Choice members will gather almost 1,000 feet above the ground for the group’s first national conference in three years.

The two-day event will officially kick off on Friday 25 November with a welcome function at Melbourne Skydeck on the 88th floor of Eureka Tower, which sits 935ft (285 metres) above the city’s Southbank precinct.

The following night they up the ante by travelling to the 89th floor for a ‘Three Years In The Making’ Party at Eureka 89 – the southern hemisphere’s highest restaurant and bar.

Both of the function spaces are owned by Journey Beyond, the exclusive venue sponsor for this year’s social functions.

The majority of the 2022 program will take place at the Crown Conference Centre and include workshops, a preferred supplier exhibition and a range of keynote speakers, with events once again overseen by Tim Campbell.

Travellers Choice managing director Christian Hunter said that this year’s conference theme, ‘Never Normal’, will look beyond the notion that Australia’s travel industry has entered a post-pandemic “new normal.”

“Compared to every other Australian business sector, there is very little about the travel industry that can be defined as ‘normal’,” Hunter said.

“Instead, we will explore how the travel landscape is changing and why Travellers Choice is uniquely positioned to deliver success to its member shareholders and business partners.”

Prior to this year’s conference, Travellers Choice – which last month celebrated being named Australia’s Most Outstanding Non-Branded Travel Agency Group at the 2022 National Travel Industry Awards – will hold its Annual General Meeting and Shareholders’ Forum.
