Two storey Sofitel Spa coming soon to Darling Harbour

Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour has announced its new luxury wellness Spa: Sofitel Spa, set to open in January 2023.

Sofitel Spa will be set over two levels overlooking Darling Harbour and will boast seven treatment rooms including two suites designed by award-winning design firm, Pike Withers.

An infrared sauna, relaxation deck and meditation zone will also form part of the Sofitel Spa journey.

According to Cecilia Ferreyra, launch director of Spa & Wellness, Sofitel Spa will embrace the global shift in what it means to take care of oneself.

“We have designed our new day spa to nurture and empower guests in their wellness journey, assisting them in identifying their needs and gently guiding them in accomplishing their own goals, whether that relates to fitness, stillness of the mind, replenishment with nutrition or achieving glowing skin,” Ferreyra said.

“Our aim is to create bespoke journeys for each of our guests which means all treatments are tailor made, so guests walk out feeling the full benefits of being in our care.

“We’re also embracing the seasons by introducing unique sensory elements across the Spa that honour the natural rhythm of our bodies.”

According to Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour’s general manager, Greg Brady, wellness continues to be the “new” luxury, which is why the hotel has incorporated wellbeing across all of Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour’s touchpoints.

“We recognise the need for a hotel such as ours to have a complete wellness offering, particularly post pandemic and at a time when people are much more attuned to keeping well,” Brady said.

“Not only has travel changed as a result of the global pandemic but so too have the expectations of our customers. Offering a 360-degree experience that includes consideration around mind, body and soul is the future of hospitality and our goal is to be a leader in wellness travel in Sydney.”

Luxury French beauty brand Biologique Recherche has been chosen to provide guests with a clinical approach to personalised cosmetic treatment.

Therapists will be trained in using the products, while emerging Australian brand Waterlily will provide the Sofitel Spa guests with a sensory journey through aromatherapy and ritual.

While traditional treatments such as massages, facials, body wraps and exfoliations will be available, the Spa’s signature will be half-day wellness journeys that combine the elements of Movement (exercise), Nourishment (healthy cuisine), Care (treatments) and Rest (introspection) to provide a tailored holistic sojourn.
