Intrepid relaunches travel inspiration platform adventure.com

Intrepid has relaunched its consumer travel publication, Adventure.com, to promote the power of travel to be a champion of change.

The platform promises to be a great source of information for agents with an interest in sustainable travel, offering a series of personal essays, offbeat guides and fly-on-the-wall features that promote a more community-friendly and climate-conscious way of travelling.

Originally launched in 2017, Adventure.com is 100 per cent funded by Intrepid and focuses on the brand’s ethos of using travel as a force for good, not just for travellers, but for the environment and communities they visit.

According to Intrepid, the relaunch comes at a crucial time given what the industry has been through these past few years and the importance of holding businesses to account for “building back better”.

“Storytelling has a pivotal role to play when it comes to co-creating a more responsible future for travel,” said Leigh Barnes, chief marketing officer at Intrepid Travel.

“We are proud to champion the transformative power of travel, and the important role travel journalism plays in informing how and why we move through the world.

“For us, Adventure.com is a vehicle to inspire, educate and empower readers to see the world more responsibly, and build a more ethical and inclusive future for travel.”

Adventure.com will also work to reduce its own emissions as much as possible and offset any emissions it can’t stamp out.

Carbon offset units will be provided by Intrepid, and are generated from activities that prevent, reduce or remove greenhouse gas emissions from being released into the atmosphere.
