Marriott’s Courtyard brand to make Melbourne debut

Marriott’s Courtyard brand is continuing its Aussie expansion with the opening for its first Melbourne hotel set for March 2022.

Located in Batman Street and adjacent to leafy Flagstaff Gardens, the 150-guestroom new-build 4-star hotel is the third Courtyard by Marriott in the country, joining sister properties in Brisbane and Sydney.

Owned by Ousia Properties Pty Ltd and architecturally designed by Skematics with interiors by DKO Architecture, Courtyard by Marriott Melbourne Flagstaff Gardens reflects the brand’s reputation for sophistication and comfort with considered design elements catering to both business and leisure travellers.

Courtyard by Marriott Melbourne Flagstaff Gardens general manager Carolyn Smith said the arrival of the Courtyard by Marriott in Melbourne was an exciting milestone for the company and visitors to our city.

“Our guests are passionate, success-focused individuals who see travel as an opportunity for both professional and personal growth – they choose our hotel because they want to be able to work, exercise, eat well, connect, and be at their best,” she said.

“Courtyard’s modern, elevated décor, flexible workspaces, amenities, and ambiance all work together to deliver an experience that fuels and energises our guests and helps them get the job done.”

The hotel will house an all-day dining restaurant, street-facing café/bar and large fitness centre offering round-the-clock access.

Flexible event spaces for corporate meetings and social gatherings will offer the latest in audio-visual equipment and unique settings, such as an expansive rooftop entertaining area overlooking stunning city views.

Within the hotel’s immediate neighbourhood is Southern Cross Station, Queen Victoria Market, Marvel Stadium and Spencer Outlet Centre (shopping mall).

A short tram ride takes visitors to Bourke Street Mall, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Federation Square and Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
