“Guys, stop it!”: Brawl erupts over last remaining seats on American Airlines flight

Video footage of a brawl that broke out over the last three seats of an American Airlines flight has emerged, as a gentle reminder that while travel may be limited, unruly passengers are still out there causing havoc.

The fistfight erupted in the American Airlines terminal in Miami International Airport on 25 April when a gate agent announced there would not be enough seats to accommodate everyone waiting in the lounge.

Local 10 News reported that seven people were involved in the scuffle, which involved two groups of people.

In the video footage, other people waiting in the lounge can be heard trying to call security.

“Guys, stop it!” someone can be heard yelling.

One man was arrested when police arrived at the scene and three other suspects remain at large.

Police reports seen by local media reveal that the arrested man, later identified as 20-year-old Jameel Tremain Decquir, was waiting with three other people to board a flight to Chicago when they were told there were only three seats left.

The agent told Decquir that one person in his group would have to be left behind or they would have to wait for another flight.

Police alleged the group began to fight with three other people at the counter after Decquir punched one of them in the face for unknown reasons.

The other people waiting at the counter sustained minor injuries and chose not to press charges, but Decquir was still arrested for causing disruption to American Airlines and airport operations.

The other members of his group have not been located, according to Local 10 News.

American Airlines confirmed that law enforcement responded to an altercation between passengers at Miami International Airport, but declined to comment further.
