Himalaya Airlines appoints GSA for Australia and New Zealand

Himalaya Airlines (H9) has announced the appointment of Airline Rep Services (ARS) as its general sales agent for Australia and New Zealand.

ARS is a division of CVFR Travel Group and is based in Sydney. The GSA also has offices in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Auckland.

A Nepal-China joint venture, Himalaya Airlines is a young international carrier in the South Asia region. With its fleet of three Airbus A320 and one A319 narrow-body aircraft, the airline is looking to grow its footprint in the Middle East and South Asia markets, including China.

A recent entrant in BSP Australia, Himalaya Airlines is focused on growing its sales across the trans-Tasman, according to vice president Vijay Shrestha.

“We are pleased to appoint Airline Rep Services as our GSA to look after Himalaya’s sales and distribution for the region of Australia and New Zealand,” he said.

“ARS is a well-recognised name with experience to meet the required standards in air travel management.

“With this partnership, we look forward to promoting the airline in the Oceania region to establish brand visibility, as well as facilitate our customers in the region to help them reach over the entire H9 network, especially offering easy connectivity to Australia through our KTM/Kuala Lumpur sector.”

Ram Chhabra, CEO and group managing director at CVFR Travel Group, said: “We are honoured to be appointed as GSA partner for Himalaya Airlines for the region of Australia and New Zealand.

“With our strong GSA representation experience, we can deliver the required growth and brand visibility for the airline.

“ARS has strong working relationships with all major consolidators, retail chains and large independent agents which allow us to distribute airlines products effectively and efficiently.”

A call centre has been specially set up for Himalaya Airlines customers and travel trade in Australia and New Zealand. Alternatively, customers can also reach the airline by phoning (02) 8249 2517 or emailing himalaya-airlines@airlinerepservices.com.au.
