AAT Kings completes third Tassie guided holiday in big win for domestic tourism

In positive news for domestic tourism, AAT Kings has wrapped up its first three Tasmanian guided holidays since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With international and domestic border closures halting operations for the industry for much of 2020, the January departures marked an exciting moment for both the AAT travel directors and the travellers on board these tours.

“Our teams on the ground in Tassie and our 24/7 support team in Sydney were so excited to get back to what we do best, delivering incredible holidays for our guests,” AAT Kings Group chief executive Matt Fuller said.

“With state borders and restrictions constantly changing during this time, it has been a testament to the team’s dedication and determination to ensure that these three trips have been phenomenal for all our guests.”

Local winemakers and producers demonstrated why Tassie has been dubbed as a foodie’s dream destination on the three tours, offering guests tastings of artisanal cheeses at Ashgrove Tasmanian Farm, fresh salmon from the Gordon River and other delicious treats from the bustling Salamanca markets.

“We’re seeing a lot of interest in travel to Tasmania this year. We’re excited to continue showcasing the pristine wilderness, wildlife, and delicious local produce to AAT Kings guests, while also bringing tourism to the regional areas to support local communities” Fuller said.

Until 1 March 2021, AAT Kings is offering 20 per cent off select guided holidays for travel between 1 Apr 2021 and 30 Nov 2022. This offer includes both the ‘Perfect Tasmania’ and ‘Tasmanian Wonders’ itineraries, and comes with a refund guarantee.
