Virgin Australia has added services between Sydney and a number of Queensland destinations, as well as increasing flights on the popular Sydney-Melbourne route.

The airline has ramped up its Sydney-Brisbane services to four per day, before increasing to 12 services per day by early March.

Sydney-Gold Coast services have increased to five per week, before growing to seven services per day by early March.

Virgin’s Sydney-Sunshine Coast services have increased to four per week, before going up to nine services per week by early March.

Sydney-Cairns services have also increased to four per week, before switching to a double daily service by early March.

The airline’s Sydney-Hamilton Island services have increased to three per week, before becoming a daily service from early March.

Virgin has also upped its Sydney-Melbourne services to five per day, before increasing them to 23 services per day by early March.

A Virgin spokesperson said the airline will continue to review travel demand and its network schedule “to meet the needs of our customers”.

The changes come after Queensland reopened its border to all NSW travellers today, and Victoria eased travel restrictions for visitors from Greater Sydney.

To celebrate, Virgin has put 1.9 million fares for services between Sydney and the Sunshine State on sale from $75 until midnight (AEST) on Monday 8 February 2021, unless sold out prior.
