Flight attendant TikToker urges passengers not to drink plane water

A TikTok video uploaded by a flight attendant has gone viral after she exposed the one thing passengers should never drink while in the air.

Kat Kamalani, a 30-year-old flight attendant from the US, told her audience they should “never, ever, ever consume” plane water.

She explained that passengers should only drink liquids that come from a bottle or a can because the water tanks on board are “never cleaned” and “disgusting”.

“Talk to a flight attendant, because we rarely drink the coffee or tea because it comes from the same water tank,” Kamalani said, adding that the coffee machines are only cleaned if they are broken.

A 2019 study conducted at the City University of New York found that seven of North America’s most popular airlines were serving passengers “unhealthy water”, according to Business Insider.

“NEVER drink any water on board that isn’t in a sealed bottle. Do not drink coffee or tea on board,” the study concluded.
