Insight Vacations kicks off first Australian tour

Insight Vacations is celebrating its first trip since the beginning of the global COVID-19 pandemic in March last year, with the inaugural departure of its ‘Local Escapes’.

The departure is also the first time Insight Vacations has escorted clients around Australia, beginning with a six-day jaunt around Hobart on Tasmania’s Food, Wine & Whiskey itinerary.

In response to international travel restrictions brought on by the global pandemic, Insight Vacations create a selection of itineraries across Australia and New Zealand, called ‘Local Escapes’, to give guests an alternative to the overseas holiday they may have had planned.

“Recent research showed us that our guests were ready to start travelling domestically, so we’re glad we can provide an opportunity for our travellers to take a holiday and connect with local communities who really appreciate the support,” Karen Deveson, managing director of Insight Vacations in Australia, said.

“Until we’re able to travel internationally again, we hope our Local Escapes can be the break that many of us have been looking forward to.”

Insight’s Local Escapes collection includes five itineraries across Australia and New Zealand, with departures starting from January and continuing throughout 2021.

Earlier this year, Insight Vacations reviewed its health and safety protocols to ensure the wellbeing of all guests. The coaches will now seat a maximum of 22 passengers and all trips will now follow enhanced hygiene measures on and off the coach.
