JW Marriott brand makes Pacific debut on the Gold Coast

Marriott International has officially opened JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa, marking the debut of the brand in the Pacific region.

Located close to the Gold Coast’s golden beaches, unspoilt hinterlands and famous family attractions, the resort brings a new level of luxury to the beachside city.

According to Marriott, the new resort’s aesthetic is inspired by its natural surroundings, embodying the beauty and relaxed mood of coastal Queensland.

JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa contains 223 guestrooms and suites; a tropical aquatic area, which includes both a saltwater lagoon and a freshwater pool, along with a pool bar and private cabanas and six food and beverage venues.

The resort also offers 2,000 square meters of function space, featuring 10 scalable spaces for different event requirements.

The pillarless 715-square-metre JW Ballroom features vehicle access and is geared for large-scale exhibitions and product launches, while the junior ballroom – flooded with natural light and pool views – provides a stylish space for meetings and events.

JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa allows guests to relax and unwind during their stay with unique features such as the brand’s signature Secret Spots, as well as private nooks and secluded spaces for quiet pauses and reflection.

Guests can also participate in a series of five- to 10-minute relaxation rituals and activities daily, such as guided meditation sessions.

Ravinder Dhesi, general manager of JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa, said the experience philosophy behind each JW Marriott property is “a focus on feeling whole; helping guests to feel present in mind, nourished in body and revitalised in spirit”.

“The JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa will certainly deliver on this, through its thoughtful design, signature spaces and highly-personalised approach, all fused with the Gold Coast’s distinctive warm hospitality.”

Marriott’s area vice president for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Sean Hunt, said: “We are excited to continue the growth of our luxury footprint and expand our brand portfolio in Australia with the opening of JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa.

“Despite the challenges from ongoing international air travel restrictions, we have nevertheless seen strong demand within the luxury hospitality segment [in 2020].

“We are greatly encouraged by this, and look forward to welcoming back local and international guests to experience the outstanding luxury and service of our newest property here in the beautiful Gold Coast.”
