Inspiring Journeys celebrates Tassie border opening with Dark MOFO trip

To celebrate Tasmania opening its borders, Inspiring Journeys has launched a new trip: The Dark Mofo Long Weekend in Hobart.

The trip is a four-day deep dive into Tassie’s midwinter celebration unlike any other.

Created by David Walsh, founder of the Museum of Old and New Art and its creative cluster DarkLab, the festival promises to be a confronting, thought-provoking and absurd celebration of darkness.

Departing 18 June 2021, your clients can watch offbeat theatre productions alongside retrospective classic films and late openings of MONA, wander through the installations in central Bobart, tour the after-dark attractions and enjoy the delights of the winter solstice.

The best part is that Inspiring Journeys is offering a 10 per cent early payment discount on 2021/22 itineraries, plus its $99 deposit offer when paid in full.

Meet the locals at the historic Salamanca market, discover over 300 artworks at MONA, travel in the Posh Pit, a ferry journey with canapes and sparkling wine.

The trip includes 10 experiences, five included meals and three nights premium accommodation looking over the historic docks.

Can’t wait until winter? Inspiring Journeys also offers three Tasmania trips over January and February:

  • ‘Tasmania’s Footsteps and Trails’ (seven days): guests will discover Bruny Island, the Bay of Fires and magnificent Wineglass Bay, as they embark on a journey through time, ancient landscapes and untamed coastline.
  • ‘Tastes of Tasmania’ (seven days): guests will enjoy in paddock-to-plate dining experiences and meet the producers of some of Australia’s best food and wine. Guests will also delve into the untouched landscapes of Maria Island and the Bay of Fires.
  • ‘Tasmania’s Food, Whisky and Wine’ (six days): guests will indulge in private tastings and unforgettable dining experiences over stories from the passionate makers and producers. They will also bask in the beauty of your incredible surrounds as they become immersed in the best of Hobart, spectacular Bruny Island and Freycinet National Park.
