G Adventures extends suspension of trips, launches another agent challenge

G Adventures has further extended its suspension of tours throughout July due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

G Expedition departures will continue to be suspended through to the end of August, with the tour operator citing staff and traveller safety as its number one priority.

In a release, G Adventures said it is not suspending tours past 31 July, except for expeditions, as it wishes to keep the door open in case the situation evolves in a way that allows its tours to take place.

Previously, the wholesaler set 31 June as its end date for its suspension of trips but it has since revised its decision.

All travellers booked and fully paid on a tour departing up to 31 July 2020 will receive a 110 per cent travel credit on all booked tour services, including pre- and post-night accommodation and transfers, to be used on any tour departing up to two years from the end of the month of their tour’s suspension.

Travellers who haven’t yet made their final payment will have their ‘Lifetime Deposit’ kept on file to put towards a future tour.

The tour operator advised agents with questions to go HERE, email experience@gadventures.com or call 1 300 796 618.

Meanwhile, G Adventures is keeping agents busy with the launch of its latest W Trek Step Challenge, this time focusing on tours in Patagonia.

Agents can enter as a team, individual or both and accumulate their steps each day to discover just how much of the W Trek they can conquer over a four-day period.

Combine that with a daily Patagonia fact blast, photos, videos, songs, podcasts and stories, and agents can be an expert in all things Patagonia by Friday.

Over the course of four days, the challenge aims to cover 57 kilometres (roughly 71,250 steps) – the same length of days and distance that it takes to do the W Trek with G Adventures.

The Patagonia challenge is a revamp of the company’s Inca Trail Steps Challenge. To get involved in G Adventures’ latest W Trek Step Challenge, email jhilbert@gadventures.com.

From there, you’ll simply use the steps app on your phone (or another fitness tracker app) to track your daily step activities each day, and accumulate your team results to send to G Adventures GPS  Jake Hilbert by 11am each morning.

The competition will run from until midnight on Thursday 28 May. Winners will be announced on ‘Active Wear Friday’ on 29 May.
