Former Wendy Wu CEO Joe Karbo resurfaces at UK travel agency

Former Wendy Wu CEO Joe Karbo has been appointed as chief operating officer at UK-based travel agency Moresand Group.

In his new role, Karbo will be responsible for the group’s operations in 10 global offices with 600 staff across three continents.

“I’m very much looking forward to working closely with the leadership and global teams. The business has been established for more than 32yrs with strong brands, so continuing its success & growth will be my focus” Karbo said.

Moresand Group exceeded almost $400 million in 2018 through its numerous brands, most notably – Crystal Travel, TravelCenter, World Airfares, Affordable Luxury Travel, Mabuhay Travel & Paramount Cruises.

“Joe will spearhead our long-term strategy by streamlining global operating processes, expansion into new markets and supporting the company’s technology teams. We’re delighted to have someone of Joe’s experience & knowledge onboard,” PS Kang, Moresand Group’s managing director said.

Karbo left Wendy Wu in July after commencing as global CEO in 2016 and was praised with guiding the business through its digital transformation as well as the joint venture of the new Victoria Mekong River Cruise ship that enters service on the Mekong in December this year.

More recently Karbo had a 12-month term managing the Australia office and continued the growth in Australia during his time there.

Wendy Wu Tours is currently recruiting for a Managing Director for its Australia division.
