WATCH: Passenger hilariously discovers miniature horse seated on flight

An American Airlines passenger made a strange and hilarious discovery on his flight across the United States when he noticed a fellow passenger was, in fact, a horse.

If you’re reading this and asking yourself “Hay, what?”, you’re not alone. Thankfully, Evan Nowak had the generosity to share the moment he noticed the unusual traveller, on his American Airlines flight from Chicago to Omaha, on social media.

“At this time we would like to begin boarding with any active duty military, families traveling with children under the age of 3, and horses…,” Nowak writes on Twitter of the lucky miniature horse who landed an aisle row seat.

It was likely that another passenger brought a miniature horse on the plane, which can be seen seemingly calmly sitting at the front of the plane, as a service animal.

According to American Airlines’ terms relating to ‘service and emotional support animals’, fully-trained service animals, and emotional support and psychiatric service animals may fly in the cabin at no charge if they meet the airline’s requirements.

Trained miniature horses, as the airline writes, may be permitted as a service animal.

According to the American Miniature Horse Association, miniature horses – on average – stand between two to three feet tall and weigh between 68 and 158 kilograms, with an average life span of at least 30 years.
