Midweek Interview with TMS Talent’s Susan Chand

Midweek Interview with TMS Talent’s Susan Chand

Travel Weekly recently sat down for a chat with Susan Chand, senior account manager at TMS Talent. Well, that was until we had to stand up after one of the chair legs broke.

The challenge for the industry is…

Being open to change and considering good talent from other non-travel-related industries.

The things I like about my job are…

The people that I work with (they are all foodies like me) and the industry that I work in.

And the frustrations are…

None!

If I didn’t work in travel, I would be…

A paddle board instructor or a barista (to fund my coffee habit).

My favourite airline is…

Qantas all the way.

My proudest moment was…

Buying my first property.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was…

I can’t say!

I try to relax by…

Getting onto the water as much as possible and taking my paddle board out.

The last time I feared for my life was…

Falling out of a moving car when I was younger.

If I can, I always try to avoid…

Fake small talk.

I really wish I had…

There isn’t too much that I wish for, but if I could wish for anything, it would be unlimited funds to travel (with my fam, of course).

The best advice I’ve ever received was…

Work hard and play hard. Thanks Dad!

I don’t understand why people…

Live their life with regrets.

My greatest weakness is…

I put my heart on my sleeve (I am a Cancerian after all).

And my greatest strength is…

I am a rock star friend.

If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would…

Pay off my two investment properties.

If I was prime minister, I would…

Do what needs to be done to end homelessness in this country.

If I could be someone else for one day, I would be…

Michelle Obama.

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

Sri Lanka, Turkey, Ibiza, Lord Howe Island – the list goes on.

My favourite holiday was…

Croatia by far – landing on the island of Hvar, as I had run out of funds whilst in Italy.
