You can now buy a piece of the Eiffel Tower

Just in case the regular souvenir offering isn’t enough for you, you can now take home a small part of the world’s most iconic tower.

A section of the original staircase of the Eiffel Tower will be auctioned off very soon, according to Lonely Planet.

Made up of 25 steps and standing around 4 meters high, the section connected the tower’s second and third floor until lifts were installed in 1983 making the staircase in Gustave Eiffel’s original design obsolete.

French auction house Artcurial will sell the staircase section in Paris this month, with the price starting at €40,000 but it’s expected to sell for much more.

Last time a piece of the original staircase was sold back in 2016, it went for a whopping €523,000. That’s just over $800,000 Aud!Woman with toy Eiffel tower

The entire staircase, which was separated into 24 pieces, has been scattered amongst museums in Paris and private collectors around the world, the latter of which is where the latest sale comes from.

Considering we have less than $20 to our names right now, we think we’ll stick to key rings and miniature figurines.
