American Airlines celebrates Thanksgiving in style
ICYMI, Thanksgiving was last Thursday, and although Aussies don’t celebrate the holiday, we were lucky enough to celebrate with American Airlines!
The airline partnered with Hyatt Regency and Moet Hennessy to provide a special luncheon for over 100 people in Sydney.
The menu was designed by the infamous Sean Connolly, and included drool-worthy food like roast veggies, turkey, suckling pig and of course, pumpkin pie. Even the brussels sprouts were to die for!
At the event, the airline also called out to guests to donate to Cure Cancer and Assistance Dogs Australia, which are both partners of American Airlines.
Common things to be thankful for among guests were:
- “A Perfect life of love and happiness”
- “People with a sense of humour”
- “Great Friendships”
- “Family, health and children”
Plus much, much more.
Between the 16 and 27 of November, U.S. airlines expect over 30 million customers in the 12-day travel period, as many travel across the country to visit their loved ones. More than seven million passengers will fly on American Airlines.
And the busiest travel days? November 25 takes the cake, with 6,803 departures, and November 26 is the second busiest travel day with 6,743 departures.
On these busy travel days, American Airlines recommends getting to the airport at least an hour and a half before flying anywhere domestic, and two hours prior if travelling outside the U.S.
You can also download the free American Airlines app and manage your travel on the go. Enjoy features like free inflight entertainment, the ability to rebook flights or track your checked bags – we keep you connected.
Now if you’ll excuse us, we have to plan our 2019 Thanksgiving in America.
