Keynote speakers at Hawaii’s Global Tourism Summit to address the power – and challenges – of Travel’s Future, October 1-3
The theme of this year’s Global Tourism Summit – Charting the Course – points to the ever-present need for destinations and travel suppliers to continuously balance the power of tourism’s popularity worldwide with its impact on residents and communities.
The summit’s four keynote speakers (see below) will address tourism’s economic influence globally – as well as its challenges – as airlines, accommodations and activities adapt to emerging industry trends and evolving consumer interests in the competitive world of destination travel and hospitality.
Presented by the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA), the Global Tourism Summit takes place October 1-3 at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu. The need to strive for sustainable tourism, the significance of Hawaiian culture, Hawaii’s global marketing programs in 2019, and new travel innovations will be showcased in thought-provoking sessions, presentations and panel discussions.

Grand Opening of Timbers Kaua‘i at Hōkūala, Kapa‘a was named one of TripAdvisor’s “10 World Destinations on the Rise for 2018” and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa and Hawaiian Airlines is being honoured with Tourism Legacy Awards at Hawai‘i’s Global Tourism Summit.

Hawaiian Airlines to add Daily Sacramento to Maui service
Hawaiian Airlines announced it will begin daily non-stop flights between Sacramento (SMF) and Kahului, Maui (OGG) next year, offering convenient, direct access to the Valley Isle on the airline’s new Airbus A321neo from California’s capital city. Special introductory one-way fares are on sale now for travel beginning April 1, 2019.
Hawaiian, Hawai‘i’s largest and longest-serving carrier, launched its Sacramento-Honolulu service in June 2002. The carrier currently operates four Airbus A321neos on the following routes: Portland and Honolulu and Kahului, Maui; San Diego and Kahului, Maui; and Long Beach and Honolulu.
The highly efficient, mid-range A321neo aircraft complement Hawaiian’s fleet of wide-body aircraft currently used for service between Hawai‘i and 12 U.S. gateway cities, along with 10 international destinations.

Hawaiian Airlines welcomes Boston!
Hawaiian Airlines will be adding Boston as their second East Coast mainland service, effective from April 4, 2019.
