Do not adjust your sets: Royal Caribbean ships are taking over Aussie and international TV!

Do not adjust your sets: Royal Caribbean ships are taking over Aussie and international TV!

If you think you had a productive weekend, you’ve got nothing on Royal Caribbean.

Because over the weekend, not one, but two of their ships premiered on screens everywhere!

Harmony of the Seas is starring alongside Kristen Bell, Kelsey Grammer and Seth Rogen, in the Netflix original “Like Father”, which premiered on Friday August 3.

The movie is written, directed and produced by Lauren Miller Rogen and features Kristen Bell as a young advertising executive and workaholic, who was left at the altar and unexpectedly ends up on her Caribbean honeymoon cruise with her estranged father – played by Kelsey Grammer. After a ton of soul-searching and adventuring, the two return with a new appreciation for both family and life.

“Like Father” was filmed on-board Harmony of the Seas and showcases the characters experiencing the amazing lineup of thrilling activities and amenities that Royal Caribbean is known for – including Boleros, The Perfect Storm, FlowRider, Royal Promenade, Rising Tide Bar, and the line’s private island destination Labadee, Haiti, where the longest overwater zip line is located. Sounds like a pretty good filming located to us.

To celebrate, Royal Caribbean hosted the largest movie premiere at sea by screening the movie across its Oasis Class ships – Symphony, Harmony, Allure and Oasis of the Seas – in the iconic AquaTheatre, the onboard amphitheatre boasting two movie screens.

Leading up to the premiere, guests were treated to a very special event in the signature Boardwalk neighbourhood, featuring a live DJ, face painting, delicious treats and beverage specials.

The ship features some of the most modern and groundbreaking amenities, including imaginative dining, unparalleled entertainment and the latest technology, such as VOOM, the fastest internet at sea. It’s no surprise it was chosen as a movie set!

But Harmony of the Seas wasn’t the only Royal Caribbean ship on show this weekend.

Ovation of the Seas played host to Flight Centre Travel Consultants Greer Gardiner and Tayla Barkhusen on the latest episode of Flight Centre’s The 48 Hour Destination, which was filmed entirely onboard the ship.

The consultants attempted to experience all the incredible features onboard Ovation of the Seas in just 48 hours – and the episode aired on Channel 10 on Saturday, August 4 at 1 pm.

If you missed it, the episode will air again on 19 August at 3.30pm and will be available on TenPlay.

And as for “Like Father”, you can watch Harmony of the Seas strut her stuff indefinitely on Netflix!
