Get ready to swipe right: AirAsia is now on Tinder

AirAsia’s new destination push is targetting all you thirsty Tinder users out there to get you to visit the world’s most eligible destination – Malaysia.

Is it really the girl in the photo? Probably not, but you can probably find her in Malaysia? Again, it’s a grey area.

The ‘Meet Malaysia’ campaign rolled out earlier this week in out-of-home, digital, in-app, radio and social channels, and comes as the airline prepares to move its Victorian operation from Melbourne Tullamarine to the cities new lower-cost airport Avalon, set to open later this year.

“While more traditional destinations within Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam were well known by Australians, the opportunity to present Malaysia’s unparalleled luxury, epic landscapes and experiences was something we hoped travellers would consider next time they embark on a journey to Southeast Asia,” AirAsia Group Head of Brand Rudy Khaw said.

“This match-making exercise is a cheeky way of engaging Aussies curious to know more about Malaysia, from hiking Mount Kinabalu, swimming with sea turtles in Kuching to the smell of fresh laksa and street food in Penang.”

If you do happen to come across Ma Laysia on Tinder, while the idea of swiping right on an entire destination might seem a bit off given the circumstances,  it’s a good idea to do so because you’ll go in the draw to win a return trip for two to Malaysia!

You’ll also get a double pass to the Rainforest World Music Festival, in Sarawak, Malaysia, which the airline announced it would be supporting earlier this week.

So if you don’t already suffer from RSI in your swiping finger, this probably as good an excuse as any to get started.
