Matthew Cameron-Smith, Trafalgar Australia managing director, said he came up with the idea during a recent trip to the US.

“Recently, I was in Santa Monica at our global leadership conference and our USA & Canada teams were sharing all the things they were doing to celebrate their National Agents Day,” he said.

“It astounded me as we always put agents first, so why do the North American agents get all the love?”

“So today, we declare 23 May 2018 Australia’s first ever National Agents Day. From the Trafalgar Tribe and I, we thank you for your continued support. We will continue to always put you first – so today, we celebrate you and reward you with a slice of The Good Life.”

The kind folk over at Trafalgar want to celebrate agents not only by giving you your own day but also by setting up four new initiatives to make sure you have a fabulous National Agent Appreciation Day!

You guys power the travel industry so it’s only fair that you receive the appreciation you deserve!

Here’s what’s on offer:

1. GET LUNCH ON TRAFALGAR

Agents who post an image, video or status (in 25 words or less) on the Trafalgar Tribe Facebook page on 23 May telling Trafalgar why they love being an agent, they will go into the running to be 1 of 20 winners to get a $100 UberEats gift voucher for your store. Don’t forget to include the Hashtag #AusAgentsDay in order to be in the running.

2. LET US INDULGE YOU

Every agent who secures a new Trafalgar and CostSaver booking and deposits on 23 May will win a French-inspired prize.

3. And that’s not all! Trafalgar will also be taking it to the streets with the sales team handing out Mega I LOVE MY AGENTS cookies for sales calls received on the day, and internal agents will be receiving a special morning desk drop to kick off the day. Did you score one? Share a photo with #AusAgentsDay

4. As part of Trafalgar’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, Global CEO Gavin Tollman will commission 100 trees to be planted to commemorate the occasion with sustainability partner One Tree Planted, to support reforestation in places like North America and Tanzania.
