Ah Twitter. A place for cute gifs, witty remarks, and a certain orange tinted world leader to shout into the void.
We know its good for getting your business out there and having a laugh, but did you know it’s also a great source of information for travel agents?
Well, now you do. Check out this list of great accounts to follow and keep yourself informed and entertained. Who knew you could have both?
Sydney Airport travel assistant @flySYD
Sydney airport has introduced a handy as heck flight assistant to give you real-time flight updates.
You can also send a tweet to @flySYD with your flight number and you’ll get an automated reply with your flight status.
Its also a good idea to follow all of Australia’s major airports, just so you can keep on top of their latest updates. Here are Melbourne, Sydney, and the Gold Coast.

Flight Radar 24 posts some lovely photos, facts, and live air updates about service changes, delays, cancellations and big moments from its 417 thousand followers.
Flight Radar 24 posts an update every time there is an emergency landing or route change so it’s a great way to keep on top of any unexpected travel adjustments.

Smart Traveller, as you will probably know, is the Australian government’s travel advisory and consular information service.
You’re probably familiar with their email service and have probably told many a client to register with them to get safety updates while on holiday.
Their twitter is super useful in that it keeps you up to date with ALL the goings on that might affect travel plans, including terrorist threats, natural disasters, event information and local customs.

Besides seeing beautiful photos like this one on your feed, following the Cruise Lines Internationa Association Twitter account will keep you up to date with everything happening on the water.
CLIA’s Twitter is also the only place agents can find out about giveaways throughout Cruise Month in October.
