Secure tickets to Sri Lankan roadshows now

In case you haven’t heard, Sri Lanka is coming to Australia.

Travel reps that is, not the entire country. That’s not possible.

The Sydney and Melbourne roadshows have officially sold out, and the Perth event has only a few tickets left.

So what makes Sri Lanka so interesting?

It’s a humble place.

A relatively small island situated off the coast of India, one would be forgiven for not knowing that Sri Lanka produces 80 to 90 per cent of the world supply of cinnamon.

We know! We couldn’t beleive it either.

But cinnamon isn’t the only reason to nab the final tickets. There’s a whole lot more.

A delegation of 50 Sri Lankan representatives will host Australian travel agents, tour operators and media for dinner and networking as the tourism bureau sets it sights on developing arrivals from Australia.

The roadshows are scheduled for 20 November in Perth, 23 November in Melbourne (sold out) and 27 November in Sydney (sold out).

Director of Marketing, Madubhani Perera said, “We are very excited to increase our promotional efforts in Australia and engage the Australian travel industry to help demonstrate to consumers the wonders of Sri Lanka.

“We have world heritage sites, rich bio diversity, tropical beaches, adventurous experiences and world class hotels.”

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau  Chairman Udaya Nanayakkara added, “Sri Lanka Tourism engaged in a similar promotion last year in Australia and with the introduction of direct daily flights by SriLankan Airlines to Melbourne this year, we need our presence with the travel trade on a continuous basis.

“So, we are back in Melbourne, Sydney as well as in Perth to present our world heritage sites, rich bio diversity, tropical beaches, adventurous experiences and world class hotels to the Australian market.”

With proceedings beginning at 5.30pm the evenings will see attendees treated with Sri Lankan food and drinks and a networking sessions with exhibitors.
