Tramada add Gender X option for travellers

Tramada Travel profiles will now have the option of a third gender category.

Tramada, an automative booking management system for travel agents, has upgraded its gender categories to be more inclusive.

The software company’s recently released 5.4 version includes a third category of gender – Gender x.

The gender x category not only is a recognition of transgender rights, but also acknowledges that not all people fit within gender roles many are typically confined to by their sex.

The new option has also been added to the global distribution system (GDS), which will simplify the process in instances when the gender of a traveller is truly unknown.

“Our profiles can now better reflect passport gender for Australia and New Zealand and the eight other countries who recognise Gender X, ” said Country Manager Australia and New Zealand, Susan Enners.

Australia is one of ten countries across the globe that issue passports with an option of putting gender x down for those who have either been born with an indeterminate sex at birth or who are in the process of gender transition.

Other nations inclusive of a gender x option are Canada, Germany, India, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Thailand and the United Kingdom.

Passport and visa scans are about to launch on the Tramada System, which will ensure greater accuracy and higher document security for client’s travellers.
