Tourist swims after cruise ship that left without her

A British tourist is lucky to be alive after swimming almost half a mile to catch up to the Cruise Ship that pulled away from the Madeira coast without her.

Susan Brown, a 65 year old British tourist, was found afloat with her handbag in the Atlantic ocean by fisherman, after she had attempted to swim after the Marco Polo cruise ship she had been a passenger on.

According to Travel Market Report, Brown left the cruise ship after an argument with her husband, but then attempted to return to the Marco Polo ship after believing that he was still on it.

She then found her self frantically swimming for four hours in the dark trying to catch the ship.

She was very lucky to have been rescued by fisherman after suffering from hypothermia. But seriously, who thinks they can swim faster than a cruise ship?!

A flight home was arranged for the couple by Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) “at their request and for personal reasons” after they had spent a month on the 32-day Cruise & Maritime Voyages sail ship together.

Apparently, after all that effort, Mr Brown had booked and hopped on his own Easyjet flight home.
