The city’s best kept secret is out! See Sydney’s newest hotel rooms

Check out what $13.5 million looks like when pumped into redesigning hotel rooms.

It’s taken a year but time well spent according to Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney guests following the hotel’s $13.5 million re-design of its rooms and function spaces now all fully operational.

Situated on the corner of Pitt, Hunter and O’Connell streets, the five-star hotel’s historical roots of being home to John Fairfax & Sons, publishers of The Sydney Morning Herald have not only been retained but also included in the re-design with old photographs displayed in public areas.

While the first phase of the re-design, which focused on the functions and meeting rooms, were completed in September last year, this month’s launch of its refreshed 336 guestrooms and 28 suites is a final note for the ‘new Blu’.

Boasting new silk fabrics and contemporary chrome and metal-blue colour schemes, the hotel’s Presidential Suite has also been divided into two rooms, bringing the total number of guestrooms to 364.

“We are delighted to announce the completion of the hotel’s re-design and I firmly believe this $13.5 million investment now cements Radisson Blu’s position as one of the leading five-star hotels in Sydney,” Radisson Blu General Manager, Peter Tudehope said.

The hotel’s new look and feel complements the critically-acclaimed and two-hatted Bentley Restaurant and Bar, which has been situated in the hotel since 2013.

The hotel has also signed on with new collaborations, lifestyle brand Papinelle to design an exclusive new range of luxury sleepwear for the hotel’s guests Archie Rose Distilling Co to create The Distillers High Tea served at the hotel, which includes three of Archie Rose’s spirits range. Guests can also sample Radisson Blu’s very own gin, called ‘Out of the Blu’, which has been specially blended at the distillery.
