Emirates adds more capacity to Perth

Emirates adds more capacity to Perth
By admin

Emirates will upgrade its second daily Perth service to an A380 aircraft in August, adding almost 100,000 additional seats per year on the route.

The airline commenced its first A380 service to the Western Australian capital last May, with the other daily flight serviced by a Boeing 777-300ER. But from August 1, it will replace the B777 with its flagship A380 aircraft.

“Introducing a second daily A380 aircraft provides passengers who choose our early morning Perth service the added benefit of a same-day arrival in Europe via our hub in Dubai,” divisional vice president Australasia Barry Brown said.

“With the additional seating capacity of a second daily A380, our customers have even more opportunity to experience Emirates and enjoy seamless travel to 38 destinations in Europe.”

Recent upgrades to Emirates’ business and first class lounge at Perth International Airport as a further sign of the airline’s “ongoing commitment” to WA, according to Brown.

“With seven daily A380 services from August, it is clear that Australia is one of Emirates’ most valuable markets,” he said. “We’ve come a long way since our first flight to Australia almost 20 years ago and now when you look to the skies and see an Emirates aircraft, chances are it’ll be an A380.”

Seven of the 11 aircraft Emirates operates on its Australian routes are A380s.
