Hong Kong Airlines outlines Australia hopes

Hong Kong Airlines has reported an “overwhelming” response to its new triangular service from Hong Kong to the Gold Coast and then to Cairns which touched down for the first time on Saturday.

The three times weekly service will operate every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.

Hong Kong Airlines commercial director Li Dianchun expressed delight at the successful launch of the “much anticipated” new route.

“We expect Australia will become a popular destination with our travellers who would like to enjoy the beautiful weather, stunning coastline and exciting activities that the Gold Coast and Cairns have to offer, further strengthening the cultural, tourism and business ties between these two countries,” he said.

The airline currently covers 30 major cities across the Asia Pacific region in its destination network.
