Dawn Princess to become Pacific Explorer

Dawn Princess to become Pacific Explorer

Princess Cruises’ Dawn Princess will be renamed Pacific Explorer when the 2000-guest ship switches over to sibling cruise line P&O Cruises in May 2017.

The vessel will be the next to join the growing P&O fleet following Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden which will set sail next month.

Pacific Explorer will carry many of the same offerings as these two hotly-anticipated ships including Angelo’s Italian, Dragon Lady and Waterfront restaurant.

But the overall design of the ship is still being worked on, P&O Cruises senior vice president Sture Myrmell revealed.

“Just as we’re preparing to welcome Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden next month, we’re thrilled to have another ship on the horizon that will continue the exciting evolution of our modern Australian cruise product,” he said.

“We have grand plans for Pacific Explorer and we think her new features are going to cause a lot of excitement in the local industry.”

Pacific Explorer will be based in Sydney for its inaugural season with its details of its sailings to be released early next month.
