And the winner of the TTC Great Escape comp is…

Confident handsome. Handsome young man in white shirt looking at camera and keeping arms crossed while standing against grey background

The Travel Corporation’s Great Escape mega famil is fast approaching, and as exclusive media partners, we had one special seat to give away.

Entrants simply had to share a photo of one of their own ‘great escapes’ and tag Travel Weekly and #TTCGreatEscape, along with why they wanted to go on this famil.

And after a few weeks running, plus a week of deliberation, we have chosen our keen bean winner.

Congratulations to Leesa Rogash from Alpine World! Check out her winning entry, plus a little Q&A with the lucky lady:

We’ve also featured some of the other hot contenders from the comp, so keep scrolling for a squiz!

TW: Can you tell us about your Great Escape entry photo?

Leesa: My Great Escape entry Photo is a little silly really. Last November I went on a cruise in the Caribbean and followed it up with the theme parks in Florida. I am a bit of a geek at heart so Harry Potter at Universal was at the very top of my must do list. The photo is of me, moments after I was selected for the wand choosing ceremony at Ollivanders. The scarf was already mine. I think the key about travelling is always keeping your sense of wonder and excitement, to never become jaded by your experiences.

What’s been your best travel adventure?

This one is super difficult. I have had a lot of wonderful trips in the last few years! I think I would have to say my biggest adventure would be when my best friend and I packed up our swags and went on a road trip along the great ocean road. We left from the Snowy Mountains with 1 car, 2 swags, a table and chairs and an esky. It took us 9 days to get to Adelaide and it was one of the best adventures! We didn’t have much of a plan and just camped in national parks and camp sites along the way. It was my first ever trip where I just went and looked at things of interest with no schedule of things that had to be seen. We roughed it and stopped in tiny, beautiful towns just because we could, saw wildlife, beaches and natural wonders. Adventure doesn’t always happen abroad, It can happen in your own backyard too!

If you could escape anywhere where would you go?

Everywhere is not an answer is it? I think Egypt is always high on my list or maybe Rome. I am a bit of an ancient history buff so I would love to check out all of the wonders I have read about!

What are you most looking forward to about your TTC Great Escape?

I think I am looking forward to New Zealand the most, as I have never been before! I am very excited to visit Hobbiton, though I shouldn’t really say that, as one of my fiends is super jealous!

If you won a million dollars, aside from travelling, what would you do?

A million dollars is not a retire at 27 years old sort of amount. I think what I would do would be to help out my family a bit, then probably buy an investment property somewhere nice, like the beach. I live in the Snowy Mountains, so somewhere warm would be nice to escape to!

Check out these other highly commended entries!
