Travel Partners has become the first travel group to take up insurance cover provided by Gow Gates to ensure all customers are protected.

The company has adopted a new policy known as Travel Agents & Intermediaries Failure Insurance, or TAIFI, so that the public have peace of mind that their money is protected when booked with them.

The insurance cover provided by Gow Gates has given what Travel Partners director Jeff Hakim calls a feeling of reassurance to customers booking through them.

“We feel it’s important as an ATAS participant to effect this insurance for our customers, we wish to also stand out from other agents with a physical insurance policy rather than just give a peace of mind promise,” he said.

Travel partners also provide insurance for ATAS accredited Wholesaler collapse, including charge back.

TAIFI is one of the three products offered by International Passenger Protection Limited through Gow Gates, and Insured by Liberty International Underwriters for ATAS participants only and provides cover against their insolvency.

“With the end of TCF protection, TAIFI offers an alternative insurance solution to protect customers monies allowing consumers to choose whom they book with based on their money being protected or not” IPP’s managing director Paul McLean said.

“With AFTA’s consumer campaign and no doubt numerous articles the public will become educated in making a decision to book with an agent based on whether they offer such covers or not.”
