Collette shakes up guided holidays for Australians

USA-based guided holiday firm, Collette, has made its first foray into Australian shores with the opening of a dedicated Sydney office.

The company said it expects its “great” value-for-money product range would be ideally suited to the discerning Australian traveller, claiming it offers “more inclusions at a lower cost than main competitors”.

As a third-generation, family-owned worldwide tour operator established in 1918, Collette expanded into Canada and the United Kingdom prior to its Australian debut, which is expected to officially launch on February 12.

Collette’s vice president of Service & International Business, Christian Leibl-Cote will head up the team in Australia.

Specialising only in guided travel, Collette offers 4-star travel experiences across 160 escorted tours to all corners of the globe.

The company said it “aims to provide guests with cultural experiences that go far beyond those included in a standard holiday package, giving them the opportunity to interact with locals, sample fine cuisine and access sites and experiences not readily available to the public”.

Collette’s “Spotlight” program also features all-guided single-stay stays to suit all travellers.

According to Collette, the firm boasts a 98% worldwide customer satisfaction rating from its tour survey returns for the past 5 years.

“For decades, Collette has been proud to take our guests to Australia, showing them all the wonders of the place you are lucky enough to call home. Now we’d like to return the favour and help Australians explore the dynamic cultures, exciting cuisines, and iconic must-sees that are part of the immersive Collette guided travel experience,” Collette president & ceo, Dan Sullivan Jr said.

Collette is offering a $200 on-tour credit for all new bookings from now to 31 May 2015, for travel to 31 December 2015.
